CAMDEN CITY Metropolitan Sydney, NSW
As the Sydney market winds down, the Camden LGA is one of the remaining strongholds of the property boom. It is one of the market leaders for the Sydney metropolitan area, in terms of suburbs with busy sales activity.
The City of Camden has one of the largest and fastest-growing populations in Greater Sydney. It has been specifically targeted by the State Government for conversion from greenfields to residential estates. Developers have moved in and are busy.
The residential construction activity is being accompanied by new town centres and a $330 million hospital, while Camden’s relative affordability is attracting first-home buyers.
Camden’s proximity to the new Western Sydney Airport adds to its attraction, with millions being spent on road upgrades in the region, leading to improved connectivity.
This is one of Sydney’s leading urban growth areas. The population of the South West Growth Centre, of which the Camden LGA is a major part, is expected to reach 300,000 people, requiring 110,000 additional homes, in around 30 years.
The population of the Camden LGA is projected to rise from 78,000 in 2016 to 226,000 within 20 years.
This report includes the suburbs of Camden, Camden South, Cobbity, Elderslie, Gregory Hills, Harrington Park, Mt Annan, Oran Park and Spring Farm.
