City of Ryde - North Shore of Sydney, NSW
The City of Ryde is a highly-rated residential and commercial precinct with significant infrastructure on Sydney’s North Shore.
The municipality includes one of the Australia’s leading high-technology commercial precincts, as well as major medical and educational facilities.
Facilities and amenities are being enhanced through major urban renewal developments, led by the $500 million Top Ryde Shopping Centre project, which is part of a larger re-development of Ryde Town Centre.
The City of Ryde is also a place of considerable history, with grand old architecture in buildings such as Curzon Hall, The Hermitage, The Parsonage and Willandra, all built in the 1800s, which provide a contrast to the modern, cosmopolitan metropolis that continues to emerge in the area.
Following price growth in recent years, the suburbs in this precinct have some of the strongest long-term capital growth rates in Australia, with many suburbs averaging 10% per year over the past decade.
At present, the City of Ryde is reviewing its planning laws to prevent over-development, a policy which is likely to underpin property values in the area.
This report covers the suburbs of Eastwood, Gladesville, North Ryde, Ryde, West Ryde and Macquarie Park.
