Dubbo - Central New South Wales
Dubbo is one of the strongest regional cities and property markets in New South Wales.
It is an established regional centre servicing the Orana region of central NSW. The region is home to a renowned zoo, sprawling agricultural land, vineyards and new mining projects. This is all supported by a strong construction sector, retail and healthcare industry. This economic diversity is one of the city’s great strengths.
The $1 billion Dubbo Zirconia Project (DZP), 25km south of Dubbo, is based on one of the world’s largest in-ground resources of the metals zirconium, hafnium, niobium, tantalum, yttrium and rare earth elements. The local economy is predicted to receive $50 million a year in spending from the zirconia mine operations.
Also boosting the city and the wider region is increased development and an expansion of community facilities such as a $240 million hospital upgrade, a $236 million wind farm, a $150 million prison and several major residential developments.
Dubbo is also expected to benefit from development of the Inland Rail link.
