Goulburn - Southern Tablelands, NSW
Goulburn is one of several New South Wales regional centres to emerge as strong growth markets over the past 2-3 years. Partly this is because of local events and partly it is a Ripple Effect from Sydney’s growth market.
The rise in sales activity has generated solid growth in Goulburn’s median house price in the past 12–18 months.
Goulburn has long been a solid regional centre servicing the Southern Tablelands area of NSW near the ACT border. In the past it has been hampered by water supply issues, with restrictions on residents.
But its prospects have been improved by a $54 million pipeline solution to the water problem and a major injection of economic activity through construction of multiple wind farms.
Long-term, Goulburn will benefit from its location in the growth corridor linking Canberra with Sydney – with growing numbers living in affordable Goulburn and working in Canberra.
