Tamworth - Regional New South Wales
Tamworth’s affordability and rural lifestyle have been capturing the attention of industry experts, home buyers and investors for the past two years and the interest is expected to continue throughout 2019.
Already established as the regional hub for the Greater Northern region of NSW, Tamworth continues to grow as infrastructure projects, such as the intermodal freight hub and Virgin Australia’s pilot training academy, roll out.
Tamworth has plenty of room and established facilities to accommodate the spillover from capital cities – a move currently being encouraged by federal and state politicians.
The economy is solid, underpinned by agriculture, mining, tourism, aviation and healthcare (an industry that has created 570 jobs since 2011), while the education sector can expect a boost with the University of New England planning to open a campus in Tamworth.
The mainstays supporting tourism are the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival and equine events, with Tamworth marketed as “the National Equine Capital of Australia”.
The Tamworth property market is strong, with sales activity and prices rising.
This report covers the suburbs of Calala, East Tamworth, Hillvue, Kootingal, North Tamworth, South Tamworth, West Tamworth and Westdale.
