City of Canning, Perth, WA
As Perth property markets start to grow again on the back of an improved local economy, Local Governments are heeding the forecasts for population growth and preparing land for new residential estates.
The City of Canning is to become home to an extra 35,000 over the next 20 years and is attracting residents because of its affordability. There is now evidence of price growth in several suburbs in this precinct.
The REIWA named Canning Vale as one of Perth’s top-selling suburbs in April and ranked East Cannington as one of Perth’s top growth suburbs in late 2018.
The City of Canning has particular appeal because of its proximity to health and education precincts, an industrial employment hub, the Perth CBD and Perth airport.
Now under way, the City Centre Regeneration Program is expected to deliver 10,000 new homes for 25,000 new residents. The area around the Cannington train station is marked for further residential development while 1,500 new homes are to be eventually built in Bentley.
With Perth overall offering strong levels of affordability, particularly in comparison to Sydney and Melbourne, the City of Canning offers considerable appeal to investors and home buyers.
This report covers the suburbs of Bentley, Caningvale, Cannington, East Cannington, Ferndale, Leeming, Lynwood, Parkwood, Queens Park, Riverton, Rossmoyne, Saint James, Shelley, Willetton and Wilson.
