Kalamunda Precinct - Eastern suburbs of Perth, WA
Major infrastructure projects are reshaping the way Perth does business, bringing the resources industry, overseas trade and tourism together in a series of interconnecting ventures surrounding Perth Airport.
As the airport business precinct grows and acquires improved infrastructure, residential areas nearby are expected to grow – including those in the Kalamunda LGA in the foothills east of the airport.
The Forrestfield-Airport Link is one of the key projects, providing rail services to the precinct for the first time.
This market has held up relatively well amid the general decline in Perth. There have been price decreases and vacancies in some postcodes are high - but overall, in the face of the economic downturn in WA and overall depressed property market conditions in Perth, the Kalamunda precinct has shown a level of resilience.
And now there are growing signs of recovery, with a number of Kalamunda suburbs recording price growth in the past 12 months.
This report covers the suburbs of Forrestfield, High Wycombe, Kalamunda, Kewdale, Lesmurdie, Maida Vale and Wattle Grove.
