$106 million distribution centre for Tasmania

Tasmania's independent supermarkets and Woolworths will join forces to build a $106 million warehouse and distribution centre in Launceston. The centre will replace existing facilities in Launceston, Hobart and Devonport and hopes to retain all old staff, offering relocation allowances where necessary. The centre is a response to Tasmania's growth in consumer spending, with food retail growing 9% last year.
