$1bil data centre project clears first approval hurdle

The ACT Planning and Land Authority has approved the controversial data centre and power station at its new home in Hume. The 53,000m2 development application still needs approval from the ACT Department of Territory & Municipal Services and the Environmental Protection Authority. The $1billion project was originally proposed for a site in Macarthur but following community outcry it was moved to a site 1km further from Macarthur homes.
