Leighton Properties and Devine have joined forces to deliver a $1billion multi-use development on Townsville’s old railway precinct. According to concept plans developed by Cox Rayner architects, the site (bought for $25 million) will feature 60% residential use with the rest retail, entertainment and potentially education. Plans will make the most of 900m of Ross Creek frontage with boardwalks and a 5000-seat outdoor amphitheatre. The developers hope to lodge an application with Council by the end of this year.
