North Queensland businessmen are pushing to develop a $350 million sugar mill at Ingham which would be operating in 2012 with an 18-month build time, according to The Townsville Bulletin. The plant would require a supply of 2.3 million tonnes of cane a year. The new facility, incorporating grower and community ownership, would generate larger revenues from the sugarcane plant which will be able to be shared with growers and skateholders.
