5000ha bought for carbon permit plan

The Forest Product Commission has bought 5,000 hectares in the south-west of Western Australia for its tree-planting project with Synergy Energy. The commission will plant 10 million eucalypts on 36 south-west farms for carbon sequestration as part of Synergy’s plan to secure carbon permits under the Federal Government’s Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.
