The Victoria State Government says work will begin on the $700 million Frankston bypass next year, slashing the commute time for thousands of motorists. The bypass will allow travel at 100kmph from the city's edge to Rosebud - and is expected to be toll-free. The road is part of the Government's wider transport strategy including proposals for a $9 billion east-west road tunnel and a $7 billion rail tunnel from Sunshine to Caulfield.
