$90mil boost to Australian film and TV

The film and television industry will create 1,000 jobs directly and 2,500 indirectly thanks to the Federal Budget allocation of an extra $90 million to be spent on Australian drama. The ABC produced only 17 hours of Australian drama in 2008 but has received an additional $70 million over the next three years to lift that to 90 hours per year. The SBS has received an extra $20 million in the Federal Budget.
