Church v Residents battle nears conclusion

The battle between residents of Rosebery in inner Sydney and Hillsong Church (which wants to build a $78 million, 2700-seat auditorium in the suburb) is nearing conclusion after the plan got the thumbs down from an independent assessment team. The assessment, commissioned by the City of Sydney after vocal opposition by residents, found the facility would double peak traffic close to homes, which was not within acceptable planning guidelines.
