Recovery signs emerge in China

Signs that the Chinese economy may be improving are starting to emerge, although economists say it's too early to determine whether it a sustained recovery. The latest data from Beijing reveals there was a major increase in lending by Chinese banks late last year, following the goverment's relaxation of credit controls. There are also indications that demand for iron ore is picking up, with prices on the spot market rising for the past 80 days, while the slowdown in manufacturing has been arrested.
