Residents oppose Catherine Hill Bay project

Residents of Catherine Hill Bay, 100km north of Sydney, have vowed to use green bans to stop the construction of 787 houses in a luxury development by Rose Corp. The project will increase the housing stock in the seaside village eight-fold (currently there are 100 houses). Opponents include Australian Institute of Architects Fellow Peter Sutchbury who says the development "will completely disrupt the quiet community values of this unique maritime village". Residents say they're prepared to face arrest participating in blockades and industrial action to stop construction.
