Southport Spit site for superyacht marina

Posted on 4/05/2008
The Queensland State Government will soon seek expressions of interest in a new marina for Southport Spit. It will accommodate 30 superyachts, 350 recreational boats and trawlers, two tourism projects, an indigenous cultural centre and an enhancement program for the 93ha Federation Walk and Nature reserve. Two development sites have been named for the development: 2.3ha between Mariners Cove and Southport Yacht Club, and 8.2ha between Sea World and the Palazzo Versace Hotel.
