Listings Take Winter Break
Residential property listings are down 3% compared with the same time last year, as they ease off during the colder months.
The latest REA Group Listings Report shows that between May and June, listings have dropped by 9%.
Darwin in particular has had a huge drop in listings, down by 37.9% on the same time last year.
The city is experiencing a surge in buyer interest, with Hotspotting’s Winter 2025 Price Predictor Index identifying it as Australia’s hottest property market with very high levels of sales activity.
Total listings are also down in Melbourne by -5.8% and Brisbane by -2.3%.
Perth has the highest increase in total listings year on year, up by 13.3%. Adelaide total listings are up 12%, Sydney, 6.8% and Canberra, 4.3%.
Regional property markets are tighter with total listings down 2.6% compared to the same time last year, with the biggest drops recorded in Regional Western Australia (-15.4%) and Regional Queensland (-7.9%).
