Suburbs In Hot Demand
New analysis shows the Australian locations where property prices are set to rise on the back of increasing demand.
Data from PropTrack shows where the average number of key enquiries per listing is rising the most. Key enquiries include potential buyers emailing or calling the listing agent, or downloading documents.
REA Group senior economist Eleanor Creagh says an increase in enquiries per listing is an indicator that buyer demand is intensifying.
“When more buyers are competing for each property, this heightened competition typically places upward pressure on prices,” she says.
Enquiries per listing increased in 59% of Australian suburbs in the past 12 months, particularly in affordable locations.
Melbourne led the pack with demand for houses up in 90% of its suburbs compared to the same time last year.
The top location in Australia for an increase in enquiries per listing in the house market is in West Albury in New South Wales (up 154%). Other top increases in house markets are Gilston in Queensland, Driver in the Northern Territory, Millars Well in Western Australia, Acton in Tasmania and North Bendigo in Victoria.
