Regional Australia Mostly Virus-Free

Large tracts of Australia remain free of coronavirus.

Around 135 regions and local government areas in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia have recorded no COVID-19 cases.

The vast majority of the COVID-free zones are regional towns and it’s one reason – among others – that I expect regional real estate markets to be less impacted than the big city markets

For these and other reasons, investors would be wise consider regional markets, which offer affordability and much better rental yields.

Hotspotting has just published the latest edition of its National Top 10 Regional Hotspots report, which outlines 10 locations with good prospects for growth, taking a longer-term view.

Hotspotting considers that many of these regional areas, because of the make-up of their economies, are well-placed to withstand the worst of the virus crisis.
